I consulted with Dr Lebeau on at least 5 occasions that I noted, plus other forms of communications. Unfortunately the last 2 meetings did not sit well with either of us, nor did the 8 problem filled months that followed for me awaiting surgery by one of his staff/colleagues. To be fair, the long wait is a system failure, though there is a lack of transparency in the process. The problems are a totally different matter. After successful recovery I went straight onto another more serious but unrelated surgery list for 6 more months. I had been experiencing significant symptoms for the better part of a year and was tracking that down while waiting for my first surgery. I am currently in my fourth month of recovery from that. I am no longer able to work and have recently started physio for spinal cord damage at the biggest rehab center in the city. I am a regular at 3 major local hospitals. I see Internists, ENTs, Endocrinologists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Urologists. A very difficult 21 months, with 11 of those months wearing 2 different truly invasive and disruptive medical devices. I feel that I have been proactive to participate regarding improving my health every step of the way, or at least preventing more direct or indirect damage. For my second and again unrelated surgery, I paid $750 myself for an MRI to avoid yet another 6 month delay. It turned out to be the crucial piece of the puzzle.(Do not wait or be influenced by others if you think something is wrong. You know best) I used the same approach with Dr Lebeau but my efforts were futile. Through all these different events, people, places, I always feel that no doctor has ever done less for me, has ever made me feel less relevant or that my well being was less important than Dr Lebeau. The issues are well known to both of us. It is what it is and I stand by it. Given the pressures of real life practice in a hospital setting versus theory, I assume he feels he did all he could, or at least that he was willing to. As he pointed out to me "Des cas comme le votre, j'en ai plein". From my point of view, I strongly disagree. There were options, starting with listening, basic dialogue, explanations, perhaps even guidance. A doctor of his stature could have, should have, handled things better from the start. Way better.

He had the choice of making the next 6 months of my life better or worse. Despite multiple written and verbal objections and justifications on my part, he chose to make it worse. Sure enough, about 2 months down the road, several complications arose. I could not stand it anymore and went to see another doctor. He granted me an initial period of 8 weeks paid medical leave soon followed by 18 weeks, a total of 26 consecutive weeks of paid sick leave. Doctor Lebeau would not grant me the time if day. These are documented facts and indisputable.

Insensitive, rude, disinterested, stubborn, defiant, less than transparent as per his needs, withholds info and diminishes patient and symptoms, especially when it comes to insurance programs and stats. It is all as about him, control, status, media appear
