Horrible experience with this unskilled, lack of knowledge, arrogant and self-centered doctor.  I had asked for a transfer to another institution after a few days of his care.  

Dr. Ryan A. Luther was on a team with Dr. Wayne Gold at UHN, who saved my life. I had a very rare and serious disease, misidentified 3 times at 2 previous hospitals and when I arrived at emerg at Toronto General I was virtually unable to breath. There was not much hope for my chances of survival, previous heart attack victim and 72 years of age. Dr Luther, along with other great physicians, fought to all ends to save my life, and as young as he was, in Infectious Diseases, I credit him and Dr. W Gold for saving my life. I realize it takes a team, many professionals played a part as there was not one area of my being that did not require care, but the major problem was in ID. There was a great team of doctors, nurses, RTs, PTs to name a few, as I was in hospital close to 6 months and survived. Dr. R Luther remains my ID Doctor to this day and am forever grateful to him. Dr. Luther’s knowledge, care, bedside manner, patience for explaining what was happening to me to and to my very worried daughters while I was in ICU for the majority of time was immeasurable and factual. I am so fortunate to have Dr. Luther as my Specialist and would highly recommend him to others. Thank you, Dr. Luther, we are so lucky to have you in our health care system. A. F.
