Hôpital Royal-Victoria (CUSM)

Incredible staff but they are totally understaffed and always overbooked. This is one of the busiest emergency rooms in Montreal. If you have a pressing issue go anywhere else.

Shittiest emergency service I've seen. I'm followed at this hospital for 2 kidney transplants and multiple other health problems. Went to the emergency because of a shit ton of pus leaking out of my anal drain and they made me wait 14 fucking hours (and still waiting) in a jam packed waiting room with 60+ persons when they know damn well I am immunocompromised. Staff was rude, the triage employee was acting like he was the best doctor on earth, was super condescending with everyone. 

Kind and knowledgeable nurses

I came in with kidney stone pain, saw triage and was in a room with in 20 mins and had an IV put in as well as medication  for pain. Very well taken care of, when you go in with an emergency they take very good care of you, 

Amateur doctors . All the skilled dictors arevthe specialists .

Very professional and kind staff. Everyone went out of their way to help me.

Had symptoms of internal bleeding so my cardiologist and nurse told me to go straight yo ER. Arrived at 2pm. Tjey only decided to draw blood 7 hours later. Results are only take about an hour but then who knows how long to see the one ER doctor. My symptoms are nasty and super dizzy but no stretchers are available. Next time I will try the General.

Oh my God, the triage nurses are the worst... Very poor service without any empathy at all... They seriously should be evaluated to spot their lack of professionalism. It takes forever to see a doctor even when your condition is serious. Your health have plenty of time to deteriorate before you can see someone to actually help you. Avoid this place if you can.

EMERGENCY ROOM = EMERGENCY. I see people texting, laughing, chatting, eating, smoking - NONE of you are emergent. Expect hours of wait. When you complain that there is 1 doctor, you are right. That ONE doctor manages the ER and the CONSULTS FOR THE ENTIRE PLACE. If you are not satisfied, by all means call the health minister and VOICE YOUR ISSUES, because I (as a nurse at the ER at the LGH) would LOVEEEEEE nothing more than a properly staffed ER with many doctors, but such is life. And such is public health care - where BUDGET is divised according to hospital by people who don’t work in a hospital. We all want more staff, more nurses and more doctors. So I can go home and not be exhausted from having to take on double patient load and not being able to eat or pee for 13 hours. If you don’t work in health care - you have ZERO idea what actually goes on.

This place is run very poorly. I actually overheard the nurses discussing that they didnt know what their responsibilities were right in front of all the patients! This does not inspire alot of confidence in this place!

Went to the ER yesterday and even though the ER room was full i was seen after 4.5 hours with blood tests done and chest X-Ray. Great staff and awesome doctors. To the person who wrote a review about no toilets in the ER should get glasses or eyes checked. There’s 2 big toilets with 3 stalls and 4 private ones. Just saying.

Toooooo slow Got to triage at 8:22 am saw the doctor at 10:15 pm Did blood test and ct scan at 12 am At 6 am they called me into a room to give me the result its 7:58 now and no body even checked on me

Mon conjoint a été transféré ici pour une oppération a coeur ouvert et tout etait parfait quelques petit prb avec les transport entre les etages mais pour le reste je suis plus que satisfaite

Worst emergency services I have ever received. Waited 8+hours to see a doctor that told me I wasted my time going to that hospital and that I should have went to another for the kind of treatment I was seeking. I do not recommend the emergency services of this hospital to anyone.

I had to visit the ER and while the staff was mostly very nice, I still had to wait 5 hours from the triage (blood pressure+temperature) until they took my blood sample. And after that just 3.5 more hours for a grumpy doctor to ask me why I had not gone to another hospital, and that there was nothing he could do. All in all almost 10 hours wasted. My advice? Go elsewhere! I don’t think I’ll ever visit that ER ever again.

The triage nurses 2 out of 2 times are cold and horrible. When you finally get to see a doctor, the hospital is redeemed slightly. They should seriously evaluate the triage nurses.

Waited 14h to see a doctor for 5 min and get a prescription. I felt rushed and processed like a #. U could feel the annoyment on the doctor’s face when i was asking questions. He Did not perform any exams or diagnostic after a 14hours wait. The evening nurse and registration staff were great and caring but the morning ones another story they just dont care

Transférer de l'hôpital Notre Dame après une nuit nous devons passer au travers de tout le processus d'attente quand c'est supposer être un TRANSFER et que un docteur nous attend. Déjà diagnostiquer avec une infection des intestins et du colon, eu un traitement hier. PAS QUESTION. Et personne ne comprend ou n'a le temps de nous expliquer. NON

The doctors are extremely friendly, kind and have great medical capacity.

Got there took a number and then nothing for 30 minutes then I walked in the triage and tell the nurse I was there because my doctor send me here and I having an hemorrhaging with a lot of blood in my stools because I have the crohn decease and I have a lot of pain then she said ok then sit down, she taking my vital signs and she see my blood pressure was 188/111 and my suguar was 25.6 she told me go register and laid down on the stretcher. I got register took 40 minutes because in they file it was saying I was dead... I told them I not dead but I am about to die if I don't see the doctor soon, then 3 hours later I still on that stretcher in the d#@$& waiting room so I went back to see that nurse and ask her if it gonna to be long because I having pain, she answered well we have no space ... Got feed up and went in another hospital and it took 15 minutes to be in the back on a stretcher and the nurse installing the iv and 20 minutes later doctor there and give me 6mg of Dilaudid S/C. So stay away from that place.

7 hours of waiting after a 5 minute comsultation with a nurse. Waited to see the doctor and felt rushed, like cattle

10 hour wait. Then 3 days in ER...no bathroom facilities or privacy. Worse than hospitals i have seen in Africa and Asia. And we are supposed to be a developed country!

Very slow, but they’re professional and kind. I’ve been to the Vic a few times now and I’ve trusted them fully each time

Great service, but even if I was classified as 2 in the triage I had to wait 7 hours before the doctor took me in.

My family doctor had sent me to the ER with a referral to get my finger drained. I had an infection that was filled with pus and needed an incision. They sent me home with antibiotics for 7 days and no drainage. By day 4 of the antibiotics my finger has gotten so worss I had to go to another ER. The doctor there regretted so much that it waited that long because the healing process and drainage was twice as hard

Room full of patients and no visible doctors in sight. Seemed like they barely had any staff.

Mon ami a eu un avc 3 mois apres une bagarre au parc . On et aller au royal vic et l infirmiere du triage a demander se qui ses passe on a dit on crois un avc et lui a raconter histoire si haut la elle a dit sa seras pas long et ses vrai , mon ami a pasee un scan et electrocardiograme et prise de sang et revu la medecin dr myer , elle nous a dit presenter vous demain pour voir le neurologue .Et on et retourner et on a pas trop attendu et les neurologue on fais des tests et une prise de sang et donner des medicament . Decembre 2018 et non octobre 2018

I had a sever migraines for 5 days got to hospital was not able to talk or move I had to be on wheelchair They made me wait for 6 hours i got worse and worse my friend asked for a doctor and we were told to leave if we can nor wait any longer. I have a history of migraines i was hospitalized before and they could see it in their system!!!!!! After 6 hours i was brought home with no medications. I had to go back again to emergency i was not able to stand up any more. Horrible emergency. They do not even treat you like a human being
