I am a fairly new patient of Dr. Basta.  As someone with a smoking history, he suggested I get a CT scan and referred me to the Lung Cancer Rapid Assessment & Management Program (LungRAMP) at TGH. 

Even though I had no symptoms, the CT scan revealed I had a nodule on my lung which required further testing.  A biopsy concluded Stage 1B lung cancer.  Shortly after, I had surgery to remove my right middle lobe, and am now cancer free thanks to Dr. Basta’s intervention.  Good doctors understand responsibility, and I admire his dedication and commitment.  Having an open mind, and becoming familiar with technology beyond the scope of Richmond Hill was crucial in my case.

I do believe God brought me to him, and had I not followed his advice, I would be telling a much different story down the road.
