Met this "Doctor ?" today and WLMH.She was condescending and rude. She didn't know what CPTSD is...wow.. just wow.. Presented with dizziness,Head fog,Headache, tinnitis, fullness in ears and fluid coming from ears. She implied i was a hypochondriac. All these symptoms are symptoms of Omnicron Covid and yet she did not test for covid.I was afraid it was a brain tumor causing CSF leakage and had to beg for a CT scan.( it was clear apparently) indicating even more so that this is Covid. She SHOULD NOT BE PRACTICING. Dropped the Ball. "Dr" Shannon Elaine "Fumble" Smith. Fluid leaking from the ears, known as otorrhea, can occur as a complication of COVID-19, particularly when the virus causes significant upper respiratory inflammation, Eustachian tube dysfunction, or secondary ear infections. While not a typical primary symptom, ear-related issues—including pain, pressure, and fluid—have become more common, especially with Omicron variants. Here is a breakdown of the link between COVID-19 and fluid from the ears: Causes of Ear Fluid in COVID-19 Eustachian Tube Dysfunction: Inflammation from COVID-19 can block the Eustachian tubes, which connect the middle ear to the throat, causing fluid buildup, pressure, and a feeling of being "underwater". Acute Otitis Media (Middle Ear Infection): The virus may cause swelling that traps fluid, allowing bacteria or viruses to cause an infection. Tympanic Membrane Perforation (Ruptured Eardrum): In some cases, severe middle ear infections (otitis media) can cause the eardrum to burst, leading to fluid leaking into the outer ear. Direct Viral Infection: Some evidence suggests the SARS-CoV-2 virus can directly infect the middle ear, as demonstrated by studies finding the virus in middle ear fluid. Symptoms and Timing Symptoms: You may experience ear pain (otalgia), muffled hearing, dizziness, ringing in the ears (tinnitus), or a feeling of fullness. Timing: Ear-related problems may appear early on or even after the initial respiratory symptoms have cleared, sometimes appearing as a "Long COVID" symptom. Variant Differences: Some studies suggested higher rates of ear issues, such as tinnitus and dizziness, with the Delta variant compared to Omicron, although both can cause ear issues. Management and Treatment When to See a Doctor: Contact a healthcare provider if you notice fluid leaking from your ear, especially if it is accompanied by severe pain, high fever, hearing loss, or dizziness. Treatment: While many ear symptoms resolve on their own, a doctor may prescribe antibiotics if a secondary infection is present, or suggest decongestants. In rare cases of severe, persistent fluid, ear tubes may be used to drain the fluid. What to Avoid: Do not clean your ears with cotton buds or put anything inside them, as this can worsen an infection or injure the eardrum. I have ALL OF THESE SYMPTOMS How many patients did you put at risk by not testing me for Covid and masking me etc? Smarter than you'll ever be... Drew STRAIGHT UP. Of note* WLMH Nurses were EXCELLENT, Professional and Kind. Sucks they have to work with this Falldown
