GMF CLINIQUE MDCM (CLINIQUE MDCM)

My experience at MDCM-GMF has really shed new light on how terrible medical practice can be, setting the bar to a new low. I went to see this so called ‘doctor’ Helene Duchesneau for a shoulder pain. She wouldn’t make eye contact, doesn’t listen, and was dismissive of the symptoms and pain I was trying to explain. She is straight up rude, arrogant and has a terrible lack of empathy as a doctor. Coming from a family of medical practitioners, I can say with certainty that she is negligent of her patients. Initially I thought she was just racist (being a person of color), but as I googled her name it turns out that she is just a terrible terrible doctor! You will see a consistent trend of patients stating the same things; uncompassionate, doesn’t listen, useless, rude, arrogant, etc.

I am surprised that someone like this is allowed to practice anywhere. After my first visit, I did an MRI, waited approximately 2 months and I didn’t get any follow ups. As I called this clinic, initially they said, ‘oh she is busy’, then they said ‘oh the hospital sent us an incomplete MRI report which we now got’ and they said let’s schedule a phone call. She never called at that scheduled time, and as an in-visit was scheduled, the first thing she told me was you have an ‘Out-of-Quebec’ number, so I chose not to call you because of some bureaucratic regulations. Then she spoke dismissively asking me questions on if I am a Canadian citizen, what is my status, how did I get my health card and if its temporary! I was shocked, I am a resident and I pay 5-figures taxes, and this is what I get in return. I guess this is what we should accept with this so called ‘free healthcare’? I wouldn’t use this so called ‘doctor’ to treat my dog. The only brim of hope is she seems to be close to retirement, hopefully opening up the space to a decent compassionate human being who actually cares about treating patients and treats them with the respect they deserve. Disgusting!

This is one of ther best medical clinics I've been to. Great doctors who actually take the time to listen (which makes the punctuality issue so much more understandable and bearable). The medical receptionists are friendly, efficient, and generally look happy, which makes the waiting room so much more pleasant. Online booking system, but also responsive by email, and while the phone line is always busy they promptly return calls.
